【摘要】:Theproceduresoutlinedherearegroundedinthegenerallyacceptedbodyofknowledgeandexperienceinthefieldofforensicdocumentexamination.Byfollowingtheseprocedures,aforensicdocumentexaminercanreliablyreachanopinionconcerningwhethertwoormoredocumentsproducedwithinkjettechnologyarefromthesamedevice,whetheraparticulardevicecreatedthedocument,orthedeterminationofthemakeormodelofadevice.1.1Thisguideprovidesproceduresthatshouldbeusedbyforensicdocumentexaminers(GuideE444)forexaminationsofdocumentsproducedwithliquidinkjettechnologyandrelatedprocedures.1.2Theseproceduresareapplicablewhethertheexaminationisofaquestionedandknownitem(s)orofexclusivelyquestioneditem(s).1.3Theseproceduresincludeevaluationofthesufficiencyofthematerialavailableforexamination.1.4Theparticularmethodsemployedinagivencasewilldependuponthenatureandsufficiencyofthematerialavailableforexamination.1.5Thisguidemaynotcoverallaspectsofunusualoruncommonexaminations.1.6Thesemethodsareapplicabletoexaminationsinvolvingcopiers,printers,facsimiledevices,andmultifunctiondevicesusinginkjettechnology.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
